Think about it: there have always been rich and poor people in America, so if this is about jealousy, why the protests now? The idea that masses of people [Occupy Wall Street] suddenly discovered a deep-seated animus/envy toward the rich – after keeping it strategically hidden for decades – is crazy.
The dangerous thing about that [political rhetoric] is that once you suspend arithmetic and fact from a debate, between any two people, you no longer have a democracy. I can accumulate power much easier in world without arithmetic and fact because now I can just manipulate using fear; And that really is the tragedy that we’re witnessing right now and sort of battling in this country.
I think that’s one of the problems a lot of parents have when they see games. There’s someone running around with a gun and shooting things and explosions happening. [When] What the kid is seeing is power-ups, teammates, and dead-end paths…
..A lot of parents, when the kids are playing Doom or Quake, or whatever, thought the kids were being overly aggressive, But, in fact, if you look at those games, what these kids were doing were playing with teams and they were being amazingly cooperative.
